Features of Nouns

Now that we have been able to define what a noun is, to understand better, we need to know its grammatical features. Remember, grammar is functional. Hence, below are the principal features of nouns.

i.                    Some nouns answer to the question, WHO?

Examples:

Ade stole your meet.

WHO stole your meet? Ade

Sola and Lola are fighting.

WHO are fighting? Sola and Lola

God is great.

WHO is great? God

ii.                  Some nouns answer to the question, WHAT?

Examples:

My phone is missing.

WHAT is missing? Phone

Baking is my hubby.

WHAT is my hubby? Baking

She loves Eagles.

WHAT does she love? Eagles

iii.                Nouns answer to the question, WHICH?

Examples:                                   

Amala and ewedu is my delight among all delicacies.

WHICH is your delight among all delicacies? Amala and ewedu

Toyota is the best of all auto crafts.

WHICH is the best of all auto crafts? Toyota
