CLASSES OF AUXILIARY VERBS

All auxiliary verbs are further classified into two classes:
i.                    Primary auxiliary verbs
ii.                  Modal auxiliary verbs

Primary auxiliary verbs are from three grammatical variants:
a.      Do-variants
b.      Be-variants
c.       Have-variants

Let’s pick them one after another.

Primary Auxiliary Verbs
DO-variants
‘Do’ has five grammatical variants which are:
            Do
            Does
            Did
            Doing
            Done
Consider the tense table blow
Present(plural)
present(singular)
continuous
past
perfect
do
does
doing
did
done

Let’s use the above in five different sentences.
I)                    They do fight always
II)                  She does walk majestically
III)                They are doing it right now
IV)               We did eat rice yesterday
V)                 We have done it

Note:
Among the Do-variants, ‘doing’ and ‘done’ are anomalous because they act as the main verbs. Likewise, the rest of Do-variants are capable of acting as the main verbs. For example:
I)                    He does his assignment so quickly
II)                  We did the work ourselves
III)                I can do it well
